Paella Team Signup

Thanks for being interested in cooking and joining our little celebration! Signup is simple and can all be done online.

There are two judging categories - Traditional and Keep Austin Weird. Traditional is how Valencians think of Paella - both meat and seafood versions - and will be judged according to, well, traditional standards. Keep Austin Weird is for everything else - creative spins, vegetarian, etc etc. Our judging standards are below, so you know beforehand what we're looking for and how each element of your paella will be judged. You must pick a category when signing up.

You can also choose to not be judged; just cook for the sake of the art of paella. And perhaps some free sangria.

Other things you need to know:

You must register your team through our online registration (below).
$25 deposit per team due at signup. Deposit will be refunded at the event.
Teams are encouraged to provide their own pans (22" minimum). However, PLU has paella pans available on a first come, first served basis.
Maximum 3 people per team. Team members will receive free admission to the event. Please be sure to let us know the name of your team members below.

Paella judging will begin at 2pm. Pick an available time for your paella to be judged. If there is a conflict, we will contact you. Please be flexible if need be:

You can conveniently pay by credit card through our secure PayPal® service. Please note that you do *NOT* need to have a PayPal account. You can pay directly with any credit card. All transaction are simple, safe and secure.

Once confirmed, you will receive confirmation letter to the Team Email address you provided. Please bring a copy of the PayPal confirmation notice to the event for entry and reimbursement.

Paella Lovers United © is a non-profit group located here in Austin, TX. All proceeds from this event go back into the organization for it's continued promotion - no money or profit is made. It's sole purpose is to promote the enjoyment of responsible Paella indulgence, with plenty of good friends, good wine, good fun in a creative ambience.
