Paella Lovers United 2011

Fall Spanish Culinary Festival - Nov 12

Welcome to the wonderful world of Paella.  Originally from Valencia, Spain, where it is traditionally eaten on Sundays, paella is now enjoyed the world over.  Paella Lovers United (PLU) is an Austin-based group that loves Paella and holds an annual festival each fall.   We welcome you to join in on all the fun.   This year we are celebrating NINE years of Paella Lovin' and it gets better and better each year.  We welcome you to unite with our group and become an official "Paella Lover".

Sorry, tickets for this event are no longer being sold. Please look forward to our spring event.

PLU will host a Spanish Culinary Festival on November 12 from 2pm-8pm.  Come taste a vast assortment of tapas, including:

Spanish meatballs with zesty red sauce
Empanaditas with a variety of fillings
Fabes con Almejas
Marinated Spanish Olives
Spanish Chorizo with herbs
Tortilla Espanola
Spanish Flatbread with jamon Serrano y queso manchego
Datiles rellenos de chorizo y envueltos de tocino (chorizo stuffed dates wrapped in bacon)
Cocido Madrileno
Gazpacho
Piquillo peppers con queso de cabra
Spiced Spanish almonds

Of course, it wouldn’t be a PLU event without paella!  Even though we moved our open fire paella contest to April due to the burn ban, we will serve a variety of paellas prepared by your hosts, local and regional chefs, and teams of paella aficionados.
