Welcome to the wonderful world of Paella. Originally from Valencia, Spain, where it is traditionally eaten on Sundays, paella is now enjoyed the world over. Paella Lovers United is an Austin based group that loves Paella and holds an annual festival each fall. We welcome you to join in on all the fun. Can you believe we our now celebrating ten years of Paella Lovin'? We welcome you to unite with our group and become an official "Paella Lover"!
The 10th Annual Spanish Culinary Festival is an outdoor event held and will be held this fall. Please note that due to the continued burn-ban, we were unable to have a spring 2012 event as previously advertised.
Event Date: Nov 3, 2012 - Rain or Shine. Doors open 1:00 PM. Competition starts around 2:00 and runs until ... well, we're done.
Location: Due to the phenomenal growth of Paella Lovers United’s annual festival, we will continue with our new location for this year’s event: 16525 Decker Creek Dr, Austin, TX 78653, which is a beautiful 17 acre farm located just a few miles east of Austin, and minutes north of the airport. (Take MLK east to 183 overpass. Continue on FM-969 for 5.9 miles. Turn Right on Decker Creek Dr. Continue for 0.4 miles. 16525 Decker Creek will be on the Right)
Entry Fee: Tickets go on sale September 1, 2012. Adults $39 + service, Children under 6 free with parent, 7-15 $15 + service. Entry includes tapas, paella, beverages, live flamenco music and dancing performances, and unforgettable memories! Click on the "Join Us" tab upper left for tickets.
Parking: There will be plenty of free on site parking.
October 31, 2012 is the last day to purchase tickets.
Pre-registration is required.
In order to properly accommodate all those attending, pre-registering on-line through the Join Us tab will be required. No, this is not a Gestapo tactic - its just that we wish to have enough goodies on hand for everybody's enjoyment. We have taken every effort to keep costs down and still provide a quality gathering. Each year's surprising record turnouts has prompted us to make some changes. This year's fire pits will be located with more room and convenience. . In order to reduce the long lines, food distribution will be faster and more efficient.
NOTE: Due to the size of this gathering and the TABC, we are also forced to request BYOB. We do encourage you to bring your favorite Tempranillo or other libation.
Seating will be limited. You are welcome to bring your own lawn chairs or blankets.
